     ARTIST ALLEY INFO/RULES

    WHAT IS ARTIST ALLEY:

Artist Alley is a venue for amateur and professional artists to sell their anime, manga and Japanese inspired works to the general convention members. This includes comic book artists, illustrators, small cosplay accessories, and much more.  All items sold in the artists were MADE by the artists, so you will find some wonderful original works for your collection!

    ARTIST ALLEY REGISTRATION:

Registration for artist alley has already closed!  Join our Artist Alley Mailing List (read below to see how) to get the most up-to-date info regarding artist alley or to be put on the waiting list!  In order to participate in the Anime Conji Artist Alley you must have:

    • a valid Anime Conji Convention Badge
    • a valid CA Seller’s permit
    • a completed Artist Alley Contract

    ARTIST ALLEY RULES/FAQS:

    • What sort of things can I sell in the Artist Alley?
If it has your artwork on it or was handmade by you, it is generally allowed in the artist alley with a few notable exceptions. You may not sell weapons or official merchandise in the Artist Alley.  YOU MAKE IT!  Examples of items allowed in the artist alley would be posters, prints, buttons, bookmarks, postcards, plushes, t-shirts (ok to sell shirts if the artwork on printed shirt IS YOURS), cosplay items, key
chains, etc.  Any items that are considered “adult/18+” items MUST be placed out of sight, underneath yourtable.  They may only be shown if an adult requests to see them with valid government issued ID.
    • How do I sign up for the Artist Alley Mailing List?
The Alley has a mailing list in which we will email all on the list about news/info pertaining to Artist Alley.  This will include info on when the registration will become available for artist alley, so definitely SIGN UP!  You can email
artistalley@animeconji.org with ADD ME TO THE MAILING LIST in the title, and please besure to include your full name, nickname, website (if you have one for your artwork), and your email.
    • What is the process for getting a table?
There will be a form posted to the Anime Conji website. You fill out this form and pay via Paypal toregister you for your table.  Half table spaces are $20.  There will be no full table spaces sold this year, due to the amount of space we are allowed, but you can partner up with a friend and get two half tablespaces together (one half space per badge).  YOU MUST PURCHASE A FULL WEEKEND ANIME CONJIMEMBERSHIP BADGE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE AN ARTIST ALLEY SPACE!!!  If you do not purchasea badge before you register for a space, then your space will be forfeited (and your payment refunded).  Once you pay via Paypal for your space, you must then fill out an ANIME CONJI ARTIST ALLEY CONTRACT and email it to artistalley@animeconji.org.  You will not be confirmed for a table until theconvention has received your contract and payment. Please plan accordingly.  To reiterate, tables are limited and on first come- first serve basis.  After all tables have been filled, the A
rtist Alley staff willmaintain a waiting list of the next 20 artists to submit the form.
    • How many tables are available?
The Alley is still figuring out how many tables we can fit given the space we are allowed. We do knowthat there will be a VERY limited amount of spaces, so you should sign up for a table as soon as youcan.  The number of spaces may increase as we get closer to finalizing plans later in the year.
    • How many tables can one artist or studio have?
There is a strict limit of 1 person per half table.  This means that 2 people maximum at one full table.  If you need to leave for a break for any reason, either your table buddy may watch your table, or a friend may watch your table.  ALL ARTISTS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE SOMEONE AT THEIR TABLES FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND!  We do not want empty tables sitting around with nobody using them!  If you are not at your table for a whole day or for a large part of the day, you may be asked to forfeit your space for another artist.  If you are only planning on attending artist alley for a portion of the weekend
(like attending Saturday and Sunday, but not
Friday), please email artistalley@animeconji.org and let us know, so that we can have an artist at your space on the day you will be absent.
    • How big are the tables?
Half space will be 3 ft in length.  W
e will have tablecloths on the tables, but feel free to bring your own if you wish to do so. You will also have common space behind you that is available for use so long as it does not interfere with your neighbors in any way.  Any overhead signs or behind-table signs must not interfere with other artists spaces.  If we receive complaints about your equipment, you may be asked to break it down for the remainder of the weekend. Any refusal to these requests will result in a forfeiture of your convention badge.
    • How much is a table?
Tables are $20 USD for a half space
      .
    • Where is the Artist Alley located in the Convention Center?
The artist alley is being shared with the dealers in the Dealer’s Hall this year.
    • Am I expected to be at my table every day, all day?
Yes. You are expected to have your table manned for the entirety of the Artist Alley
s hours of operation.  It is not fair to others who attempted to get tables to leave your table empty for long periods of time. If you have to leave to attend a panel or event, please plan to have someone available in your group to watch your table.NOT be available to watch your table.  If you are traveling alone and might need assistance in taking a short break, please email artistalley@animeconji.org so that we can try to help you out.
    • Can I share my table?
Yes! If you can share, and are willing to do so, it will allow more artists in to the alley! Please note that this does not allow you to sublet your table. If you cannot attend the convention, please contact staff to make arrangements. You may not sell your table to anyone else. Doing so will result in a ban from the artist alley PERMANENTLY.
    • What is a CA Seller’s Permit? Do I need one?
A CA Sellers Permit is…..a permit that lets you sell stuff in CA.  Artist Alley staff will require that a copy of your valid CA Seller’s permit be on file when you check into artist alley (there will be no copy machine, so make sure you have one).  If you wish, you can email a copy of your seller’s permit before the con to artistalley@animeconji.org.  All artists must have an ORIGINAL of their valid seller’s permit with their table space AT ALL TIMES thoughout the con.
**NOTE: Yes, we understand that you must be over 18 to get a seller’s permit.  THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT MINORS CAN NOT PARTICIPATE IN ARTIST ALLEY!  If you are under 18 years of age and wish to participate in the Artist Alley, then you will need your parents to register themselves for a valid seller’s permit.  If you are a minor, please state that you are a minor in your copy of the ANIME CONJI ARTIST ALLEY CONTRACT.  That way we can make sure that you get taken care of properly! Parent/Guardian with the Seller’s permit MUST attend the convention to check-in for the artist alley table.
    • My question was not answered here, how can I contact you?
