Model Building Contest
Model Building Contest Starting at Anime Conji 2011, we will be hosting a Model Building Contest! Entry categories are as follows:
Entry categories:
• Mecha
• Figure
• Diorama
Judgment Criteria:
Detail – 40 points: This is the actual skill demonstrated on the kit, including seam line correction, brush strokes, damaged decals, filling in areas that are not suppose to be hollow, etc.
Modification/Theme – 40 points: this is judgment on how well modifications work with a model, if it increases movement for posing, damage look etc. Is it more than just a “Out of box” kit? Includes judgment based on the kits age (Manufacturer year if possible), difficulty of the kit (i.e. Master Grade, Perfect Grade etc.), the use and effectiveness of modifications and add on parts.
Presentation – 20 points: is it just standing there waiting to get picked out of a series of other mobile suits? What did you do to make this kit stand out? This includes how the model looks from a distance as well as up close? Is the kit comedic or menacing? Entrants MUST INCLUDE at least one in progress picture with the contestant in the picture to confirm this is indeed your own work. You may bring a picture with you at the time of submission or submit a *.jpg file via email or USB drive with required picture. Entries cannot be used in contests from previous years of this contest or have submitted their models in any contests sponsored by the BAKUC.
Judgment will be made at the end of the day on Saturday, March 26th and contestants will be free to pick up their models at the beginning of the day, Sunday March 27th. Additional details will be posted closer to the convention and current posted rules are subject to change. Until then, start building!

The model entries will be accepted in the Art Show room at the times below:
Friday March 25th: 3PM – 6PM
Saturday March 26th: 1PM-6PM
Sunday Judging: 10AM-11:30AM
Talk with Judges and Pick Up: 11:30AM-1:00PM
