Anime Conji expects all attendees to adhere to the following behavior guidelines while at the convention or it’s surrounding parking lots and structures.
1. You must wear your membership badges at all times to be admitted to any convention function. Anyone without a badge may be removed from convention events at the discretion of the con staff.
2. Anything that is illegal outside the convention is illegal inside the convention. Anime Conji does not condone illegal activities, including but not limited to smoking/drinking while under the legal age or in publicly restricted areas, providing alcohol to minors, or using illegal substances or paraphernalia. Perpetrators will be turned over to the police.
3. Please keep all potentially offensive behavior in your hotel rooms. Keep it PG-13 unless you are in an 18+ area.
4. Our event does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, gender, religion, origin, sexual orientation/preference, or people with disabilities, nor do we condone it. We accept any and all fans, but we are not babysitters. Our staffers are not responsible for any underage attendee.
5. Respect the hotel staff. Keep clear of any areas marked “Staff Only” or “Employees Only.” Use regular doors for entrances and exits.
6. No camping in the halls or lobby! If you are found sleeping in the public areas, you will be asked to go to your hotel room. If you do not have a room, hotel or Anime Conji security will be forced to ask you to leave.
7. We’ll offer sympathy, but Anime Conji is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property, or bodily injuries sustained during the course of the convention.
8. Announced events and guests are subject to change and/or cancellation without notice. Every effort will be made to announce any changes via the Internet, pre-convention publications, or our on-site notices, but sometimes last-minute changes will occur.
9. Cameras are not permitted in the Art Show. Flash photography will not be allowed during the Masquerade. Please refer to the convention press rules & regulations for more information.
10. In general, no smoking, eating or drinking is allowed in the Dealer’s Room, Art Show, Artists Alley, or Gaming Room.
11. You must be fully and/or appropriately clothed while attending the convention. Please keep in mind local laws, rules and regulations when selecting your costume.
12. Any clothing worn and/or behavior acted out must not include articles that can be interpreted as supportive of hate groups, hate speech, or otherwise demeaning on the basis or race, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, etc. Convention staff may ask you to go change or to leave the convention until you can fix your wardrobe and/or behave properly. Prohibited images/behavior include, but are not limited to: derogatory terms, racial slurs, hate speech, discriminatory images/symbols, and mishandling or defacing of real-world national symbols (flags and seals). Enforcement of this policy will be at the discretion of the staff and security/guard members.
13. No attendee may physically or verbally threaten, annoy, harass, stalk, push, shove or use of any sort of physical force against another person in any way or create a disturbance that is disruptive or dangerous.
14. Do not hug, grab, kiss, or glomp anyone who does not want you to. If you are caught or reported as having done so, you may be banned from the convention. We take this very seriously, so do yourself a favor: ask first and make sure it’s okay. If someone tells you that it’s not okay, respect their wishes. We at Anime Conji want everyone to feel safe, and it is important for everyone to respect each other’s personal space. If you feel as if you’ve experienced unwanted touching, hugging, or glomping, report it to the nearest staff member immediately.
15. The following items are not allowed to be used or carried at Anime Conji: vuvuzelas, air horns, nunchaku, live weapons, anything with exposed electrical arcs or open flame, explosives and/or chemicals (included, but not limited to: fireworks, sparklers, and smoke powder). Paddles are allowed but must not be used for hitting others or physical harm.
16. Please do not post up signs, stickers, banners, etc. without prior permission from Anime Conji. If you would like to use signs in any area, please refer to the Info Desk, and we will deal with it on a case-by-case basis, or email info@animeconji.org for more information. Anyone caught defacing personal, Anime Conji, SanSFiS, or Town and Country property will be kicked out and banned immediately.
Violation of the Code of Conduct policies is grounds for immediate loss of your event badge, and expulsion from Anime Conji at the discretion of the convention staff.
If you feel that you have been treated unfairly, please let us know immediately by going to con-ops or approaching any member of our management staff. We welcome your feedback, and we need it to keep growing and improving! If you have questions, comments, or complaints, you can also e-mail us at info@animeconji.org or post in the appropriate section of our forums at http://www.animeconji.org/forums/.
