A workshop is any type of presentation/discussion/demonstration on topicsto teach the audience how to do or make something. Workshops may provide you with material/tools an allow attendees to participate and try out the techniques taught by our workshop teachers!
Here are some of the workshops coming to Anime Conji 2012 (Please note that Workshop Times are TBA):
Learn to Crochet and Make Amigurumis
Learn to crochet and make amigurumis! What exactly are amigurumis? They are the Japanese term for crochet plushies and have been taking the crafting world by storm! Now is your chance to learn this very fun needleart. Upon taking this workshop, you will be given an introduction to crochet and be taught the stitches necessary to create an amigurumi. You will then get the chance to create your very own amigurumi to take home with you. Come join us in the fun!
*In order to participate, you will need to purchase a $6 toolkit available at the workshop which will include a crochet hook and yarn.
Hosted by Sharon Shinn. Sharon is a host of a crochet meetup group local to San Diego. She has been teaching people of all ages to crochet for several years, including students in the classroom and adults of all ages. She is a designer of amigurumis and you can find her plushies and patterns on her website www.amiamour.com
Model Building
Ever look at a model kit and wonder how they make it look so good? From start to finish Nathan Caccam returns to teach attendees the basics of building Model Kits, an explanation of tools, techniques and needed supplies to make that plastic pile look like a masterpiece right out of the Movies! Presentation focus on Anime Kits, including Resin and Gundam Models. Basic Tools will be provided for attendees to build on site! Please bring your own model kits!
Model Building ADVANCED
Building on the foundation of the Model Building Panel, Nathan Caccam returns to explain some of the ADVANCED Concepts known to add that extra sparkle to your model kits.
